Composition challenge

In my first image I had only recently learnt how to use a camera. I didn't understand what makes the camera focus and draw attention to the lines of the floor.

In my second image i followed many of the camera techniques that make the image have the best quality and make a dramatic effect. In the image i used the leading lines of the carpet to lead into the focused shots of the leaf. I also used perspective and rule of thirds to create dramatic picture of the leaf on the floor

From doing this task, i learnt how to use the camera properly as well as how to get the best shots using different camera compositions.

Summary of a convention of a thriller

I now realize, for instance, that most thrillers are based on crime. However, they never really depict any murder in these previews, just the build-up to the scenes. As they also illustrate in their openings, this is in contrast to most horrors. Also, before anything else, the opening scenes always attempt to create the protagonist. They then use it to create suspense for the remainder of the opening sequence. We have learned that the adversary is introduced to the protagonists at the end, but can typically be seen throughout as the presence of the antagonists might be clear to the viewer. However, this information is omitted by some directors to build suspense and mystery throughout the thriller. The most significant tradition in a crime is arguably suspense and mystery, which is typical with many cases. A typical position in crime thrillers is that women are typically villains, whereas they are generally men, which contrasts most thrillers, but this female antagonist may mean that women are not vulnerable and are capable of killing people.   w realize, for instance, that most thrillers are based on crime. Pitch

I am pitching in response to the challenge to make a thriller film opening. I was extremely excited about this challenge as I thought it was an amazing way to show mine and my group’s creative side. This thriller film will have you on the edge of your seat during the whole film.  We decided to pick crime as our sub-genre as we thought it would be the sub-genre we can be most creative with. We mind mapped many different ideas to find the best idea, I will now tell you what we decided was the best idea to draw viewers in.

Our thriller opening consists of showing the audience the baseline of our story. The thriller is about a woman who has built such high hate towards teenage boys, she seduces them in and murders them viciously. Throughout the opening of the film, it will have sudden jump cuts of a woman who  is very young and beautiful, covered in blood and carrying bloody weapons. During the opening you never get to understand why this woman feels this way but the violence of the murders is obvious.

This film is going to be for ages 15+  as it will have violent scenes throughout. I sent out a survey to see what people like to see the most in a thriller film and the most popular reply was a woman as the antagonist. This doesn’t occur often in horror films so the twist on the stereotypical gender roles in thriller films which is why I feel it will attract more people to want to watch this film.

I hope my pitch has excited you for this film as much as I am excited to make it. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me to propose my idea to you.
